Like most IT professionals I spend a lot of time maintaining my skills and keeping abreast of new or emerging certifications. I recently had occasion to be browsing a well known job board making sure my qualifications were current (yes, I am now open to new opportunities) and noted a link to a provider of online certifications in my area. So of course I followed the link.
Pay Attention to the Final Product
The course description of the product I viewed was wonderfully curated and the provider obviously has a great educational product - but they were rather unfortunately let down, significantly let down, for lack of a simple check of how user-created content was presented on their site.
For your amusement and education I present to you a screen shot of a review taken from The Learning People's website this very morning:

If you are like me you're busy and typically scan for key words or phrases. You saw the bold, negative sounding review and stopped reading after the tag line Can't recommend the learning people... Which is a shame because with the addition of one more word this is an extremely positive review!
If only the Learning People read the reviews as they were presented on their own website and not simply in the CMS they might be able to convert a few more clicks.
